From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Greg James has shared his hilarious reaction to Claudia Winkleman calling him the wrong name on Strictly Come Dancing.

The BBC Radio 1 presenter made an appearance during Saturday (28 November) night’s show, wishing fellow DJ Clara Amfo good luck via video as she rehearsed for her jive.

Following the dance, Strictly host Claudia Winkleman said to Amfo: “I have to mention your Radio 1 family. I know they’re watching now, all of them. Craig, just all of them, the whole gang.”

James shared a video of himself watching the original clip, calling to wife Bella Mackie: “Bella, me and [their dog] Barney are on Strictly, quick.”

After watching Winkleman’s mistake, he then said: “You missed it now, don’t worry.”

Amfo, who is partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec, found herself at the bottom of the leaderboard during this week’s show after making a number of mistakes during her Jive.

“This week actually is your dance, it just went horribly wrong sadly,” judge Craig Revel Horwood told the radio presenter.

HRVY and Janette Manrara topped the leaderboard after scoring the first 30 of the season for their Street/Commercial routine to Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars”.

Elsewhere in the show, Horwood made a dig at Anton du Beke as the professional dancer stepped down from his temporary spot on the judging panel after replacing Motsi Mabuse for two weeks.

With Horwood met with boos as he criticised by frontrunners Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse, the judge joked: “Is that Anton booing from the cheap seats? Sorry Anton, but you’re no longer up here.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 7.25pm on BBC One.
