The celebrity chef and his dancing partner Natalie Low were left in the bottom two, alongside singer Jamelia and her professional partner Tristan MacManu, after votes were counted Saturday evening.
Ainsley and Natalie performed their jive to “Shake, Rattle and Roll” by Bill Haley and the Comets in the dreaded dance-off while Jamelia and Tristan did their foxtrot once more to "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion.
It was a unanimous decision from the judges who all decided Ainsley’s dance was the weaker of the two, Darcey Bussell saying: "I so enjoyed both performances and this is incredibly difficult but the couple I would like to save is Jamelia and Tristan.”
After hearing the judges results, Ainsley was asked by host Tess Dal if he had enjoyed his time on the show, he said: "It's been absolutely amazing. I'm sad that it can't continue but I made a couple of mistakes and the judges are spot on, they know exactly what they are talking about.
“I'm sad for you Natalie I really am. I wanted to push on a little bit more but it wasn't meant to be.”
Natalie added, "I think you are one of the loveliest men I've ever met. What you see is what you get with Ainsley. From the people in the street to the judges, everyone speaks so highly of you and you are such a gentleman and you've been a dream to work with.”
On the Saturday night live show, Ainsley had scored a 21 with the judges, who Jamelia was awarded a 26.
Jeremy Vine scored much lower than both, 18, and received harsh criticism from judge Bruno Tonioli who said: “You had this kind of zombified grin. Maybe because next week is Halloween you're trying to get into character early. It didn't work for me, sorry.”
The results show also featured a performance by Bryan Adams, who was joined by professional dancers Pasha Kovalev and Ola Jordan,
The remaining eleven couples will take to the dance floor once more next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 31 October at 6.35pm with the results show on Sunday 1 November at 7.15pm on BBC One
