The former professional rugby player found himself in the dance-off with Simon Webbe, but his Cha Cha to “It’s My Party” with Iveta Lukosiute was unable to save them from elimination.
The judges’ scored were combined with the results of the viewers’ vote to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing the dance-off.
Craig and Darcey chose to save Thom and Iveta, while Bruno opted to save Simon and Kristina, leaving the decision to head judge Len Goodman.
Len said: “I look at the footwork and the feet and the couple with the cleanest footwork were Simon and Kristina so that is the couple I am saving.”
Sunday’s results show featured a performance from Culture Club singing "Karma Chameleon" plus the professional dancers took to the floor to perform a barn dance.
Talking about his time on the show, Thom said: “This experience exceeded all my expectations; it is one of the best experiences of my life.
“From the judges to the other contestants to the backroom staff, everyone does such a brilliant job and helps you feel confident going into every show.”
He also thanked his partner Iveta, who he said “couldn’t’ have worked harder”.
“I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart,” he said.
