A new Stranger Things theory is predicting that one character will get their comeuppance in season four.

Netflix is yet to confirm the show will return, but this hasn't stopped fans from theorising about what could go down in future episodes.

One thing's for certain is that a new season would look very different for Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) who, over the course of three seasons, has lost two father figures.

While it's unclear whether Hopper will return following his possible demise in the season three finale, it seems like a certainty that Dr Brenner (Matthew Modine) will be making a comeback.

One Reddit user believes that Eleven will seek vengeance against Brenner for experimenting on her in the first season. Perhaps Eleven will hunt down Brenner and his associates following the revelation that she's lost her powers?

It's this journey that could uncover a massive conspiracy involving the Russians and the surviving Mind Flayer. The Reddit user believes that Brenner will be revealed to have been promoted, and is now in cahoots with the Russians, who – we learn in the season three finale's mid-credits sequence – has imprisoned a mysterious "American" character.

Some fans recently claimed to have figured out that Netflix will drop the fourth season of the hit show in 2020.

Stranger Things is available to stream on Netflix.
