Your support makes all the difference.The third Presidential debate took place last night, Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton debating numerous policies and arguing over whether democracy should be implemented.
As always, various American late night show hosts were ready to mock both candidates, Trump taking the majority of criticism, as has become common in the last few months.
Over on CBS, Stephen Colbert was one of the first hosts to react, his show - The Late Show with Stephen Colbert - airing live. During his opening monologue, Colbert heavily criticised Trump, particularly the comments about possibly disregarding the election result if not in his favour.
When asked whether he would accept a Clinton win come election day, Trump said: “I will tell you at the time. I will keep you in suspense.”
“Suspense! Democracy is going to end with a cliffhanger,” Colbert mocked. “I guess we’re all going to have to wait until November ninth to see if we still have a democracy - to see if Donald Trump is in the mood for a peaceful transfer of power, or if he’s going to wipe his fat ass with the Constitution.”
Colbert also had guest Hugh Laurie on the show, the British actor calling Trump an “astounding character.” Recently, Colbert mocked Melania Trump’s interview on her husband’s ‘locker room chat,’ employing Laura Benanti to impersonate the potential First Lady.
