The first trailer for the finale season of Clone Wars was shown to audiences at Star Wars Celebration, the world’s biggest convention for the franchise.

The original series, which aired between 2008 and 2014, followed the conflict that took place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

Consisting of 12 episodes, the new series will finally show the fabled Siege of Mandalore, with the trailer teasing an epic lightsaber battle between Maul and Ahsoka Tano. Ray Park, who played Maul in The Phantom Menace, was brought in to do motion capture for the character. Furthermore, Maul’s new look will draw directly from his appearance in Solo.

Despite having the left the Jedi Order and the mentorship of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka will reunite with him in the new series, as he gives her back her lightsabers, now featuring blue blades instead of green ones. She also gets her own clone squad, with their uniforms painted in her colours.

We’ll also see an appearance from the Bad Batch, a group of genetic experiments from a failed scheme by the Kaminoans, the creators of the Clone army.

The series will open with Ahsoka living on Level 1313 in Coruscant, where she crosses paths with twins Trace and Rafa.

The trailer starts at 52:20 in the steam from the panel below.
