The new content platform, which launched in the UK in March, features 30 seasons of the long-running animated series available to stream.
But the unusual aspect ratio of many of the show’s classic episodes led to the service being bombarded with complaints. Episodes appeared to be cropped and distorted, meaning some all-important sight gags had been entirely cut out of the frame.
Disney+ have now confirmed the episodes will be fixed, writing on Twitter: “We appreciate our fans’ patience and are working to make the first 19 seasons (and part of 20) of #TheSimpsons available in 4:3 versions on #DisneyPlus.”
They added: “We expect to accomplish this by the end of May.”

Last month, viewers tweeted their fury at the cropped episodes.
“Appears @DisneyPlusUK still haven’t sorted The Simpsons’ aspect ratio issue everywhere else has experienced for months,” wrote one user.
Another wrote: “Disney+ off to a good start by making classic Simpsons unwatchable.”
The US launch of Disney+ was similarly plagued by aspect-ratio complaints in regards to The Simpsons, with platform bosses claiming they would be fixed in “early 2020”.
