Samuel L Jackson being lined up to reprise Nick Fury role in new Marvel series
Actor has appeared in several MCU films as the leader of SHIELD
Samuel L Jackson is reportedly set to reprise his role as Nick Fury in a brand-new Marvel series.
Variety cites sources who said the show is currently in development at Disney Plus. Plot details are apparently being kept under wraps, but Jackson is being lined up to star.
Jackson played Fury, the head of the secretive government agency SHIELD, in the MCU beginning with a post-credits scene in the first Iron Man film, in 2008.
He has since appeared in movies including Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, and most recently Spider-Man: Far From Home opposite Tom Hollander.
Outside of the MCU, Jackson is best-known for his many collaborations with directors Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino, including his Oscar-nominated performance in Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction.
He and Tarantino have also worked on Django Unchained, Jackie Brown, and The Hateful Eight.
With Lee directing, he has appeared in films including Do the Right Thing, Jungle Fever, School Daze, and Mo’ Better Blues.
Other Marvel series in the works include Hawkeye, The Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Loki – the latter starring Tom Hiddleston and Richard E Grant.
