Well, it looks as if Ryan Reynolds just made something of a checkmate move on Conan; deciding to take on one of Ryan Gosling's most beloved roles in an attempt to top all those romantic hero vibes.
While debuting a bunch of current projects on the Deadpool star's slate, Reynolds announced he'd brought a clip from his latest cinematic project: The Notebook 2.
2004's Notebook, of course, saw both Gosling and Rachel McAdams star as young lovers torn apart by disapproving parents and the shadow of World War II; with their eventual reunion often remarked as one of the most romantic scenes on film, because nobody can resist a couple of beautiful people kissing in the rain.
Reynolds decided to recreate said scene; with Reynolds filling in for the Gosling role and Conan O'Brien taking on McAdams' part, complete with a delicate string of pearls for an extra touch of class. And they really went for that kiss, didn't they? It looks like Gosling better watch his back.
The actor is currently in production for Deadpool 2; which recently saw director Tim Miller leave the project after reportedly disputing with Reynolds over the film's style. Miller was apparently keen for the sequel to be a flashy, mega-budgeted superhero film, while Reynolds and the film's screenwriters were keen to keep the original's scrappy tone.
Reynolds can next be seen on screen in sci-fi Life, which hits cinemas 26 May, 2017.
