Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Question Time is set to become so childish and adversarial tonight that it may as well round off with a gunging, administered by Dimbleby on whichever panellist shouts over the others the loudest.

Nigel Farage will be assuming the role of Right-Wing Wacko, Russell Brand plays Comedian Trying To Be Taken Seriously, Time columnist Camilla Cavendish will be More Considered Voice In The Middle and Tory minister Penny Mordaunt and Shadow International Development Secretary Mary Creagh will be lucky to get a word in edgeways.

You can play our special edition of Question Time bingo here, and keep up with the debate in the live blog below, wherein I'll try to extrapolate some kind of meaning from Brand's tautologies and inevitably end up sitting in the corner of the room shaking and mumbling "banker's bonuses" and "the establishment".

Please wait for a moment while the live blog loads

Both men have been in the news this week, Farage for blaming traffic on immigrants and Brand for squaring up to a reporter who asked how much his house costs.
