Rick and Morty finally returned after a lengthy wait with what fans are calling its craziest episode yet – but UK fans are wondering when they’ll be able to watch it.

The Adult Swim show was last broadcast in the US on 15 December 2019, but returned with its latest season four episode last night (3 May).

Written by Jeff Loveness, the outing – titled ”Never Ricking Morty” – saw the show go extremely meta with a self-referential story about how its plots are mapped out by creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon.

It now seems as though UK viewers will be able to watch a broadcast on E4 this Thursday 7 May at 10pm.

This season was originally broadcast in the UK two months earlier than planned, after fans complained about having to wait.

Director of programmes Ian Katz tweeted: “You told us you were none too happy about having to wait till January to see series four on Channel 4. We heard you! So we’re bringing forward its UK premiere.”

The first three seasons are available to stream on Netflix.

Collider described the new instalment as the first to be “100 per cent meta”, while Cnet said its boldness makes it “near-inaccessible to people who might be trying Rick and Morty in search of more entertainment during lockdown”.
