From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Pippa Middleton is reportedly in talks to work as a correspondent on NBC’s Today show in the US.

The 31-year-old has been sent to Utah on a test shoot, according to the New York Post.

The sister of the Duchess of Cambridge is said to be in talks to work on the popular breakfast show following her interview with Matt Lauer last June, which was a ratings hit for the network.

A source told the paper: “Today has been doing a test piece with Pippa in Utah, and if it works out well – and it looks like it will – they will hire her as a correspondent.”

But a representative for NBC denied reports when the New York Post first ran a story about Middleton joining the station in June.

“This is 100 per cent not true and it seems anyone suggesting otherwise is ‘royally’ jealous,” the spokesperson said.

Middleton currently works part-time for her parents’ company Party Pieces, editing the online magazine Party Times.

In 2012, she published a party planning book called Celebrate, which received lower than anticipated sales.

She is currently a contributing editor of Vanity Fair and previously wrote a fortnightly sports column for The Sunday Telegraph.
