Piers Morgan has denied making a secret cameo in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, after fans noticed his uncanny resemblance to one of its characters.

In the 1992 comedy sequel, Irish actor Brenda Fricker plays a homeless woman who lives in Central Park and who befriends young Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin).

A resemblance between Morgan and the “pigeon lady” was first highlighted by Morgan’s son Spencer, who tweeted an image of the character in 2018.

“Chilled night watching Home Alone 2,” Spencer Morgan wrote. “Always forget you’re in it @piersmorgan.”

On today’s (8 December) episode of Good Morning Britain, Morgan’s co-presenter Susanna Reid once again pointed out the pair’s resemblance.

“Can we just have a look at Home Alone 2 because, frankly, it is the best picture,” Reid asked. “Lots of people watch Home Alone 2 and wonder if this is you.”

With mock outrage, Morgan replied: “Why does this keep coming around? That is not me. I am not the bag lady in Home Alone 2.”

To try and prove the pair’s facial similarities, Reid unearthed archive footage from a 2018 edition of the ITV show, in which Morgan himself was covered in pigeons.

On Twitter, many GMB viewers posted their surprise at the resemblance.

“This is too funny,” wrote one viewer. “Now I can’t un-see.”

“I need you to,” Morgan replied. “Urgently.”

Home Alone 2 director Chris Columbus claimed last month that the film’s notorious Donald Trump cameo only happened when the future US president “bullied his way” into the movie.

A proposed Home Alone reboot, produced by Ryan Reynolds, has also recently been dubbed by Columbus “an insult to the art of cinema”.
