At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The British comic was forced to pull out of his live shows due to “unforeseen family reasons” in November sparking concern, however, he's back in the spotlight with two brand new episodes of the beloved BBC sitcom set to air this month.
Speaking following a charity screening held at Blackpool Opera House last month, Kay said: “It’s absolutely wonderful hearing an audience react to what you’ve been so hard working on for so long."
“I think it’s always good to try and do something original and I couldn’t think of any other narrative comedies that have ever made a fully improvised episode,” he told The Mirror, adding: “As [co-star] Sian [Gibson] and myself often ad lib when filming we thought we’d give it a go for an entire episode.”
Kay announced three charity screenings of his popular BBC comedy programme in February, two of which are special finales to the series – which ended on a cliffhanger in 2017 – as well as an entirely improvised episode.
He said: “We just reacted to whatever came on the radio and just went with it, good or bad. We hope people like it.”
“We were always laughing, and nearly all of the laughter you see in Car Share is completely genuine,” Gibson added.
Kay surprised fans at the event by introducing the screening of the final two episodes - the 44-year-old comedian's first public appearance since cancelling his Peter Kay Live Arena Tour.
Fans lucky enough to see the episode branded it “pure genius.”
