The first trailer for Orange Is The New Black‘s final season has been released, giving a glimpse of life outside of the Litchfield Penitentiary for some of the characters.
Piper Chapman, the show’s protagonist (played by Taylor Schilling), was released from the prison in the last episode of season six, along with her fellow inmates Sophia (Laverne Cox) and Blanca (Laura Gómez).
In the newly unveiled trailer, Piper can be seen trying to adapt to her freedom.
“I recently got out of federal prison and I’m trying to get back on my feet,” Schilling narrates.
Piper is seen attending an archery class, during which one of the participants nervously asks her as she grabs a bow: “You’re allowed to hold a weapon, right?”
She also pursues a relationship with her partner Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), who remains incarcerated.
Other inmates, including Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson (Danielle Brooks), Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett (Taryn Manning) and Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren (Uzo Aduba) are also still living their lives behind bars.
Orange Is The New Black‘s seventh and final season will debut on 26 July on Netflix.
