From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Netflix and E4 have partnered for The End of the F***king World, a darkly comic drama starring Alex Lawther (the star of that tremendously messed up Black Mirror episode, 'Shut Up and Dance') and Jessica Barden (best known for Penny Dreadful).

It already aired for UK viewers through Channel 4 and All 4 in October 2017, but has now been given an international release date of 5 January, 2018 through Netflix.

Adapted from Charles Forsman's award-winning graphic novels of the same name, it combines the trope-ish genres of buddy comedy and road trip movie but in twisted fashion, one half of the duo (James) is a self-proclaimed psychopath, the other a determined misanthrope.

'The two teenagers embark on a road trip to find a better life, and escape the impending doom of adulthood,' Deadline notes. 'As their chaotic journey unfolds, it becomes apparent that James and Alyssa have crossed a line and have no choice but to take it as far as they can.'

The End of the F***king World consists of eight episodes, was adapted by Charlie Covell, directed by Jonathan Entwistle and features a score by Graham Coxon.
