From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

According to Variety, the products were sold at a pop-up dispensary in West Hollywood, with each strain "cultivated with the specific shows in mind, designed to complement each title based on their tone. For example, sillier shows may be more indica dominant, while dramedies will be more sativa dominant to help the more powerful scenes resonate."
Disjointed itself inspired three of the strains - the Omega Strain, Eve's Bush, and Rutherford B. Haze - while others were named after the likes of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (Camp Firewood), Bojack Horseman (Prickly Muffin), Arrested Development (Banana Stand Kush), and Chelsea (Vodkush).
Additionally, strains were named in connection to Grace and Frankie (Peyotea 73), Lady Dynamite (Sassafrass OG), Santa Clarita Diet (Baka Bile), Orange is the New Black (Poussey Riot), and Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (Moon 13).
The streaming service are keen to point out that they took no profit from the sale of the weed strains, but intended them merely as promotional items. The pop-up dispensary ended up selling over a hundred jars of the special mariajuana, or roughly a pound of weed, AdWeek reports.
Disjointed comes from Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre, which sees Kathy Bates star as a woman who finally fulfils her dream of opening up a marijuana dispensary.
