Your support makes all the difference.Professional surfer Mick Fanning will be filmed returning to the ocean for the first time since surviving a shark attack a week ago in a Channel 9 documentary on Australian TV.
The 60 Minutes show sees the Australian talk about the moment the shark came “right up under my board” while wading out at Jeffreys Bay, which saw Fanning leap off his surf board and attempt to use it as a shield in a bid to save his life.
In the trailer for the documentary, the surfer describes his return to the ocean as “hugely important”, before appearing to head out with his board to surf close to another shark he spots out at sea.
Fanning, nicknamed White Lightning, fought off the shark on live television during the J-Bay Open surfing competition.
He shared a photo of himself returning to the sea on Instagram earlier this week, writing: “First surf back. Feel so good.”
Speaking after the shark attack last week, the surfer said: “I was just sitting there and I felt something get stuck in my leg rope, and I was kicking trying to get it away. I just saw fins. I was waiting for the teeth.”
