Michael Strahan tests positive for Covid-19
Strahan’s Good Morning America co-host announced the news on the air
Michael Strahan has tested positive for Covid-19.
His Good Morning America co-hosts shared the news during Thursday’s broadcast of the morning show.
Robin Roberts told viewers: “We know that you have noticed that Michael has not been with us here this week. He wanted us to let you know that he has tested positive for Covid.”
Roberts added that Strahan is currently in quarantine at home.
George Stephanopoulos said Strahan is “feeling well” and “looking forward to being back here shortly”.
He explained that he and the other co-hosts and staffers have been cleared to be in the studio following CDC guidelines.
Amy Robach said she was in touch with Strahan as recently as yesterday, telling him during Wednesday’s episode: “We wish you the very best.”
The former NFL star is one of more than 25m Americans who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 so far.
He has been a full-time member of the Good Morning America roster since 2016. The show films out of Times Square Studios in New York City.
