From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Fans of Unforgotten are furious that the next episode has been delayed due to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview airing in the UK.

It has been announced that the third instalment of the ITV drama has been moved fro its usual Monday slot so the channel can air Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the royals instead.

The channel’s boss, Kevin Lygo, said in statement: “This interview is already a national talking point and ITV is pleased to be able to offer UK audiences the opportunity to see it.”

However, the decision has angered Unforgotten fans who are desperate to catch up with DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and DI Sunil “Sunny” Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar).

Episode three will be shown the following evening (9 March) at 9pm.

“WTF, how dare ITV mess with Unforgotten,” another said.

“ What the hell are @ITV doing. #Unforgotten is critical to the country in these dark times,” one fan wrote.
