Having steered their series Making a Murderer to global phenomenon status following its addition to Netflix last year, the directors behind the documentary series have lined up a new project that seems like it'll be just as enthralling.
Filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos are teaming with George Clooney to produce their follow-up project that will adapt a Huffington Post article named "America's Most Admired Lawbreaker."
Originally written by Steven Brill, the serialised article - published in 2015 - focuses on a division of pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson that created and mass produced an antipsychotic drug to children and the elderly without detailing its negative side effects.
While selling over a reported $30 billion worth of the drug globally, the company ended up agreeing to pay just over $2 billion in penalties.

Variety reports that Nicki Paluga will adapt the article into a TV series to be directed by Ricciardi and Demos. Clooney will produce alongside Grant Heslov (Argo) under their Smokehouse Pictures company that's teamed with Sonar Entertainment in a new deal.
It is unclear how many episodes the series will contain or when it is expected to air.
Following the level of recognition achieved by Making a Murderer subject Steven Avery - the story of whom took the duo ten years to make into a series - we're sure Johnson & Johnson are preparing for one hell of a media storm.
