From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The first look at tonight’s Love Island is teasing a heated exchange as Maura comes clean to Amy about her feelings for Curtis.
Last night’s episode of the ITV2 reality series saw Maura Higgins reveal to Curtis Pritchard that she’s always fancied him – and would have picked him had he not been in a relationship with Amy Hart when she entered the villa.
Now, though, Curtis is essentially single after ditching Amy following her return from Casa Amor.
Viewers were left wondering how Amy would take this news and the teaser for tonight’s outing shows she’s none too impressed with Maura’s behaviour.
“I thought she was pulling me over to be like ‘Just so you know, Curtis tried to crack on with me,’ she says, adding: ”I didn’t think girl’s girl of the year 2019 Maura Higgins would be the one who did the cracking on with the boy that broke my heart.”
Elsewhere, Tommy Fury prepares to make things official with Molly-Mae Hague as not one but two couples face being dumped from the villa.
This week, Ofcom said it would not be investigating viewer complaints about an episode that saw Maura Higgins, 30, repeatedly try to kiss Tommy Fury, 20.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2
