The Girls Erupt After Georgia and Jack's Kiss on Love Island

Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Since the Love Island boys returned from Casa Amor, the show has mostly become about brokering peace the last few days, which simply won't do for a programme that runs on drama.

ITV2 producers will be relieved, then, that things erupted in the villa last night, an argument breaking out that started with Laura, Megan and Georgia but spread to usual wallflowers Dani and Ellie.

The trailer for Friday night's episode sees Megan confront Laura about her comment that "Wes deserves better than Megan", before passing the umbrage baton to Laura who accuses of Georgia of mugginess, I assume, in kissing her new partner Jack on their date.

"Wind your fucking neck in and shut up," Laura tells Georgia, before Ellie steps in and the dynamic threatens to get fight-y, Georgia asking her "what you gonna do?"

You can watch the episode, against your better judgment, at 9pm tonight on ITV2. We'll also be live blogging it, against ours.
