During an appearing on ITV’s Lorraine, AJ said that Amy “needs to trust” Curtis and criticised the girls on Love Island for interfering in the pair’s row, which blew up after Curtis admitted he had wanted to recouple with newcomer Jourdan Riane.
Amy was left heartbroken after Curtis told her he fancied Jourdan and had snogged her during a game, and had only decided to go back to Amy after being rejected by the new girl.
Following the rejection, Curtis then appeared eager to work on his relationship with Amy.
“It’s hard seeing [Curtis] and seeing it from the bigger picture,” said AJ.
“Curtis wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s so honest, he literally can’t lie and that’s sometimes his downfall, sometimes I feel like, ‘Just say it this way, it’ll come across maybe nicer than the way you’ve said it…’”
“The other girls are blocking Amy [from talking to him],” he pointed out. “My advice was just talk to Amy.”
Speaking about whether Amy should go back to Curtis, AJ added: “It’s been portrayed that he’s kind of cheated on her, whereas realistically, yes he kissed another girl, but that was in a task.
“She does need to trust in Curtis, I know it’s hard.”
Asked whether he thought Curtis should be together with Amy, AJ said: “I think he should stay with Amy. Curtis does what he feels and he wants to get back with her.”
Love Island airs at 9pm on ITV2
