Georgia Steel and Sam Bird have quit Love Island.

The two contestants, who were a couple before being forced to separate, dramatically left the villa after an “explosive” recoupling.

According to The Mirror, the incident stunned fellow Islanders, who attempted to comfort Georgia and Sam to no avail.

“They filmed the recoupling and afterwards Sam and Georgia weren’t happy so walked out of the villa,” an insider told the publication.

“None of their fellow Islanders could persuade them to stay. The explosive scenes will be aired [Thursday] or Friday.”

Georgia and Sam had previously been tasked with deciding whether to quit the ITV2 show as a couple or remain in the villa but split apart.

They decided to remain in the villa as singletons, but were spotted passionately kissing during last night’s episode.

The producers reportedly attempted to persuade loyal Georgia to stay – even promising to allow herself and Sam to get back together – but were unsuccessful.

Love Island continues nightly on ITV2, the final episode taking place on the 30 July.
