Watch the Lost plane crash re-edited in the style of 24

Events occur in real time

*Spoilers abound for the first three seasons of Lost*

It's six years since Emmy award-winning TV series Lost drew to a close.

What initially began a mystery focused on a group of plane crash survivors became a six-season epic whose broad mythology involved underground hatches, a colony of hostile island dwellers and time travel.

Let's take it right back to the beginning: the first two episodes - "Pilot - Part 1" and "Pilot - Part 2" - showed the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 which included passengers including Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox), Kate Austen (Evangeline Lilly) and Charlie Pace (Dominic Monaghan).

It wasn't until the season 2 finale - "Live Together, Die Alone" - that viewers discovered what caused the crash: for the uninitiated, let's just say it was, in part, down to Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick)who lived in a hatch the survivors found in season 1. The hatch boasted a timer that needed to be reset every 108 minutes in order to abate a pulse of electromagnetism. Desmond failed to press the button one time, et voilà.

Okay, well concurrently with these events, we see the opening scene of season 3 premiere "A Tale of Two Cities." This is our introduction to Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) who's hosting a book club in a community that - when its rudely interrupted by the plance crash - is revealed to (gasp) be on the island.

Audiences were drip-fed these reveals through Lost's quintessential flashbacks over the opening four seasons - and a video has resurfaced on Reddit showing these moments stitched together in the style of 24.

The user, named Pyram1dhead, has even gone so far as to integrate moments not shown in the series but in the Missing Pieces webisodes that were released in the wait between seasons 3 and 4.
