From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The enigmatic musician displays her fun side in a preview of what's to come in tonight's episode of the British host's US series The Late Late Show.
While it's certain they'll perform some of her biggest tracks, including "Just Dance" and "Poker Face", the brief clip sees them perform a rendition of 2009 single "Bad Romance."
At one stage, Gaga bellows "Move!" to a passerby sparking the duo to launch into a version of Ludacris' "Move Bitch Get Out Da Way."
Corden then reenacts the phone call that resulted in Gaga being asked to perform next year's Super Bowl Half-Time Show.
The full Carpool Karaoke will be available to view tomorrow. Previous participants include One Direction, Britney Spears and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Earlier this month, Lady Gaga - who recently appeared in American Horror Story: Roanoke - debuted new music from her brand new record Joanne which was released last week.
