Killing Eve has been renewed for a third series – right on the heels of its second series premiere.

The acclaimed drama starring Sandra Oh and Jodie comer landed an early season renewal, The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Monday.

Killing Eve‘s second series premiered the previous Sunday on BBC America.

British writer Suzanne Heathcote will take over as showrunner, after Emerald Fennell served as head writer for the second series.

Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who developed Killing Eve, told The Hollywood Reporter she’s “very excited” to see “another incredible writer” step in for series three.

“We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote’s hilariously murderous hands,” Waller-Bridge added.

Killing Eve tells the story of MI5 officer Eve Polastri (Oh) and assassin Villanelle (Comer), who become obsessed with each other as the former tries to track down the latter.
