Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary has survived a fatal boat crash, in which two people died.

The incident on Saturday saw two boats collide on a lake in southern Ontario. Three other people on the vessels were injured and treated in hospital. A 64-year old American man and a 48-year-old Canadian were killed.

Ontario Provincial Police are currently investigating. The crash took place at around 11:30 pm local time.

Businessman and reality TV star O’Leary confirmed he was on one of the boats in a statement. “On late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that was involved in a tragic collision with another watercraft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene,” he said.

O’Leary offered his “heartfelt prayers and condolences to the victims, the families and those affected by this loss” and said he was fully co-operating with the authorities.

NBC also reports that O’Leary’s wife was driving the boat at the time of the crash and passed a DUI test shortly afterwards.

Entrepreneur O’Leary is also known for appearing on the Canadian version of Dragons’ Den. He made an unsuccessful bid for the leadership of the federal Conservatives in Canada in 2017.
