From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has posted her first post-op picture with two words for cancer: "F*** you."

The Veep actress posted the image on Twitter she was very thankful for her surgery and ready to move forward.

“Hoorah! Great doctors, great results, feeling happy and ready to rock after surgery,” she wrote.

Louis-Dreyfus then quipped, "Hey cancer, ‘F–k you!’ Here’s my first post op photo.”

In September, the actress announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer and used her platform to spread awareness about the significance of health insurance.

She used her announcement to bring awareness to how many women get breast cancer.

"One in eight women get breast cancer," she wrote. "Today, I'm the one."

Soon after her reveal, she began chemotherapy, which she finished last month.

Due to her illness, the HBO show she stars in went on brief break.

The Emmy Award-winning actress is slated to return to filming Veep in August just in time for its 2019 season premiere.
