The Twitter account “@UnderTheBed2017” posted the video — featuring the eyes of a cute animal — urging followers to Tweet using the hashtag "#UnderTheBed".
Thanks to the font being similar to the one used by John Lewis, many believe the teaser to be linked to the department store.
The account has not posted anything else and has so far accumulated 258 followers. Various publications have already published articles speculating about the clip.
Last year, a mysterious 10-second clip was posted by the Twitter account “@bouncing2016”, urging followers to Tweet out the hashtag “#BounceBounce”. Later that week, that clip was revealed to be part of the trampolining dog John Lewis advert.
While a closely guarded secret, this year’s advert is expected to land Friday, making it very likely the new clip features in the upcoming advert.
John Lewis has declined to comment on the speculation regarding their adverts.
