Jimmy Kimmel roasts Rudy Giuliani over lack of Golden Globe nomination for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm
Borat sequel has scored three nominations at the 2021 Golden Globes
Jimmy Kimmel has roasted Rudy Giuliani after Borat Subsequent Moviefilm scored several Golden Globes nominations.
The Borat sequel is up for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, while its leads Maria Bakalova and Sacha Baron Cohen are each nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
“Here in Hollywood, it was a day of self-congratulation: the nominations for the Golden Globes came out,” Kimmel said on Wednesday's episode of his show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“Sacha Baron Cohen was nominated for Best Actor for his movie Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, but poor Rudy Giuliani was snubbed for his brilliant turn acting like he was just tucking in his shirt.”

Giuliani appears in the film in a sequence during which he's under the impression that Bakalova – who portrays Borat's daughter Tutar – is a young journalist interviewing him. At one point during the scene, Giuliani is seen seemingly putting his hand down his trousers.
The lawyer has called the sequence a “complete fabrication” and said in a statement: “I was tucking in my shirt after taking off the recording equipment. At no time before, during, or after the interview was I ever inappropriate.”
Kimmel also saluted the fact that “for the first time ever, there are more female directors nominated than male directors,” but added: “which will make it especially painful when the Globe is given to a male director.”
