From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have recreated one of their most memorable scenes together from Friends.

The pair, who played sisters Rachel and Jill Green on the long-running sitcom, were sat down with Access Hollywood to discuss their new TV project The Morning Show when they were asked to recall their experiences on Friends.

Shown a picture of Rachel and Jill sat on the sofa inside the show’s famous Central Perk coffee shop, Aniston recalls: “This is where you say the line you love so much.”

Witherspoon then suggests recreating the scene, asking: “Do you remember your line?”

While Aniston struggles to remember her character’s dialogue, Witherspoon is seen whispering Rachel’s line into Aniston’s ear to remind her.

“I say, ‘You can’t have Ross!’” Aniston says, to which Witherspoon replies, very much in character: “Can’t have? Can’t have? The only thing I can’t have is dairy!”

On Instagram, Witherspoon posted the clip alongside the caption: “One of the best parts of working with Jen is reliving my favourite lines from Friends! #TheGreenSisters”

The Morning Show, the flagship drama series accompanying the launch of streaming service Apple TV, sees Aniston and Witherspoon play rivals at a daytime talk show.

Co-starring Steve Carell, Mark Duplass, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Billy Crudup, the series launches alongside Apple TV on 1 November.
