Jason Momoa says he felt “cheated” by the early death of his Game of Thrones character.

The actor portrayed Khal Drogo throughout the show’s first series before the character, Daenerys Targaryen’s husband, was killed off.

Now, Momoa is playing the lead role in See, a new drama series premiering on Apple TV+ this 1 November.

“I’ve always wanted to do this,’ he he said of the new role according to Metro.

“I’ve always felt like I’ve been cheated in a lot of the things I’ve done.”

He then referred to three of his former roles: Drogo, Conan the Barbarian, whom he played in the 2011 film of the same name, and Declan Harp, whom he played in the series Frontier.

“You try to show a little bit of colour in there, you know, with Conan but no one wants to see Conan crying and with Drogo he died before any of that stuff could happen,” Momoa added.

“In Frontier all his family were killed and it was about the revenge of it all. In this it’s just beautiful because you see the whole arc of it all.”

Game of Thrones wrapped up in May after eight series. A prequel titled House of the Dragon has been ordered by HBO.

George RR Martin has pledged not to contribute to the spin-off series until he finishes his long-awaited book Winds of Winter.

Another planned Game of Thrones prequel starring Naomi Watts was dropped by HBO earlier this week.
