The actor, who plays Sam Winchester in the hit show, was taken into custody on charges of public intoxication and assault with injury shortly after 2am outside the Nineties-themed bar Stereotype, which opened in 2018.
According to the LA Times, Padalecki became involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical inside the bar, after which he was escorted outside by employees.
The 37-year-old allegedly then began arguing with an assistant manager, Ian Flanagan, and attempted to follow him when he went back inside. This is when the alleged assault of two managers is said to have taken place.
Footage obtained by TMZ shows Padalecki talking with another man, reportedly a friend, who attempts to calm him down.
Police then arrived on the scene, at which point Padalecki was restrained and taken away.
The actor, who is also known for his breakout role in Gilmore Girls, is believed to be a regular at the Stereotype bar. However, some reports say he is an investor in the venue, while local reports describe him as the owner.
The Independent has contacted Padalecki’s lawyer for comment.
