From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

James Corden’s highly successful Carpool Karaoke segment from The Late Late Show has been turned into a TV show, set to be released by Apple Music.

However, things aren’t going smoothly. Original reports indicated the series would start in April, yet we’re fast approaching the month’s end.

There was also a launch party scheduled for March, which itself was delayed until last night. According to Reuters, that Lose Angeles event was also cancelled last minute, with no indication when we can expect the series.

Instead, both Apple and CBS — the broadcast that hosts Corden’s show — say the series will premiere "later this year."

The official synopses released by Apple reads: "16 celebrity pairings riding along in a car together as they sing tunes from their personal playlists and surprise fans who don’t expect to see big stars belting out tunes one lane over.”

Numerous stars have previously appeared on Corden’s The Late Late Show to sing along in his car, including Adele, Madonna, and Elton John. Already, the likes of Will Smith, John Legend, and Alicia Keys have been confirmed for Apple’s series.
