From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

While the duo was singing Maroon 5's 2002 hit "She Will Be Loved," they suddenly heard sirens.
"What do the police want?" Corden asked while struggling to roll down the window.
The sheriff yelled back referring to Levine, "We're gonna pull you over so he can sing a song."
"You want us to pull over so he can sing a song for you?" Corden laughed.
The law enforcement official retorted, "Yes, because you're causing a traffic hazard."
But the policeman let them leave quickly after, advising them to "be careful" while singing and driving.
Corden was in disbelief that Levine was unfazed by the situation, because he was "panicked in my core."
Following their encounter with the police, Levine and Corden sang "Moves Like Jagger," "This Love," "Sugar," and "Wait," and even took turns driving at full-speed at a race track.
"Where's that policeman from before?!" Levine chided Corden as he sped around a corner.
