Jada Pinkett Smith confronts Snoop Dog over his Gayle King comments

Jada Pinkett Smith has confronted Snoop Dogg over his controversial Gayle King comments.

The rapper came under fire after he criticised King for mentioning the late Kobe Bryant’s rape case in an interview. In a tirade against King, Snoop Dogg accused her of attempting to tarnish Bryant’s reputation and told her to “back off, b****”.

He later apologised for his outburst after a backlash from a number of fellow celebrities, and admitted he had “overreacted” and was being “disrespectful”.

In a preview clip of Pinkett Smith’s newest Red Table Talk episode, she told Snoop Dogg that when she first heard his comments about King, her “heart dropped”.

“I felt like not only were you talking to Gayle, but you were talking to me,” she said, while the rapper sat across from her looking pained. “I was like, ‘Oh no, Snoop has now taken his power flow away from me, away from Willow, away from my mother.

“I was like, ’Not Snoop!’ That was one of the reasons why I felt like I really wanted to have the conversation with you in the spirit of healing.”

The full Red Table Talk episode with Snoop Dogg will air on Facebook on Wednesday 26 February.
