*WARNING* MAJOR SPOILERS FOR GAME OF THRONES SEASON 6, EPISODE 2*
Kit Harington is very, very sorry.
The actor may feel a tinge of guilt about having to lie to the entire world for the past few months but, finally, the secret is out and his conscience may be laid to rest. Jon Snow is alive, and Kit Harington is a liar.
The end of episode 2 saw the fan-favourite resurrected, as many expected, by the magically-empowered Melisandre; laying finally to rest so many months of wild speculation after his death at the hands of the Night's Watch brothers in last season's finale.
Harington took to Entertainment Weekly to make his apologies to fans. "Sorry!" he exclaims in a recorded video. "I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, 'Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.'"
"But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing — or the show is doing — is right."
Though it will certainly remain the main topic of conversation amongst Game of Thrones fans, Snow's resurrection wasn't the only shocking occurrence in the season's second episode. We also saw poor Hodor utter his first non-'Hodor' words of the show, alongside Ramsay's brutal murder of his own family.
Game of Thrones airs on Sunday nights in the US, at 9PM on HBO; and will be simulcast at 2AM on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
