From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star Iain Lee stormed off the set of The Wright Show after being consistently probed about his marriage.
Speaking on his talkRADIO show, the 44-year-old presenter had previously revealed his marriage has broken down, admitting he felt "all over the place" since his time on the reality show.
"It's miserable and I feel weird after Australia. My head's all over the place," he said. "My marriage has ended. I'm getting divorced."
A subject Matthew Wright attempted to touch upon on his Channel 5 talk show, with Lee becoming furious at the probes about his personal life.
"I've said three times to your producers I'm not talking about this," Lee said in response. "I'm not talking about it. It's private... I'm so close to telling you to f- off and walking off right now."
Twitter viewers were divided over both Wright and Lee's handling of the situation.
Lee responded to the incident on Twitter, writing: "My mental health is not entertainment. My personal life is not entertainment. I am fine. Better than I've been for a long time." He added that he'll be donating his fee from the appearance to Samaritans.
