Darts star Eric Bristow admitted he was disappointed not to make the final of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! after becoming the latest contestant to be voted out of the jungle.

The former world champion left camp following 20 days in the Australian wilderness and said he would have liked to have a go at one last challenge.

Asked by hosts Ant and Dec how he felt about departing the jungle, Bristow said: "I had a great time but I would have liked to make the last three.

"I would have liked to have a go at (eating) the grubs for my kids."

Boxer David Haye, former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts and actress Charlie Brooks will now battle it out for the reality series crown as the three remaining campmates left in the jungle.

Asked about his teasing of fellow celebrities during his time on the show, Bristow, who tipped Haye to win, said: "I tell the truth whether it hurts or not. I tried to create a bit of atmosphere in the camp."

The sportsman, nicknamed The Crafty Cockney, was greeted by his son following his interview with the Geordie hosts, with the pair embracing each other as they posed for the awaiting press pack.

Earlier in the show, man mountain Haye was knocked to the floor by blasts of water, wind and flying balls in the Celebrity Cyclone task.

The heavyweight boxer was joined by his fellow campmates as they fought to win food in the energetic trial.

And despite hitting the deck on numerous occasions, the contestants managed to secure an impressive four meals in six minutes.

Haye, clearly proud of their performance, said: "Everyone promised themselves that they were going to give 100 percent and that's exactly what happened.

"All of us go back with four stars, we should be eating well hopefully. I'm buzzing."

As part of the challenge, the campers were dressed in coloured pants and capes and had 10 minutes to place stars on various markers while being soaked by water and targeted with balls fired from cannons.

The contestants also won a variety of treats including Cheddar cheese and phone calls in a darts challenge.

Brooks was able to call her daughter Kiki, seven, after her campmates decided she deserved one of the two phone calls.

Kiki said: "I miss you mummy, you are doing really well, you have lost a lot of weight, I've been watching and I can't tell you how proud I am of you.

"You are the best mummy, you will win it now, I want to be the princess of the jungle! I love you!"

The celebrities were also transported to food heaven as they indulged themselves on ice creams hidden around the camp.

But their taste buds were less impressed by Bristow's decision to choose a can of corned beef as the Dingo Dollar Challenge prize.

The darts champion and Roberts successfully completed the challenge after searching for keys in a giant pile of straw and were given the choice of a tin of baked beans or a can of the salt-cured meat.

Bristow told the American star the camp would prefer the beef as they had eaten enough beans during their jungle experience.

But the decision did not do down too well with Brooks who said: "Baked beans in the tomato based sauce and all that salt and sugar would have out-weighed a can of meat that smells and looked like dog's food."

Chatting with the group, Roberts admitted that during her time in the Pussycat Dolls she was relatively unknown compared with lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.

She said: "Even in the group I wasn't allowed to talk, we were told to be quiet. Only Nicole was allowed to talk we would occasionally pitch in."

When Brooks asked her if that drove her crazy, she replied: "Are you serious? Why do you think the band broke up? U2 are still together and they split everything down the middle."
