From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Hunters, which counts Oscar-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele among its executive producers, is set in 1977 in New York City.
It focuses on a group called the Hunters, tasked with tracking down hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials living in secret and conspiring to overtake the US to create a Fourth Reich.
“The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans,” reads Amazon’s description of the series.
Pacino can be seen in the newly released trailer giving a speech to members of the Hunters.
“There comes a time when we all must choose between the light and the darkness,” he tells them. “But when there’s great darkness in this world, perhaps the choice is made for us.”
He later adds: “This evil adds as but a spot inside of them, then it grows to a stain, then it becomes a scourge. And we can’t know such evil until it strikes. So the time to act is now, before everything we hold dear to us is destroyed.”
In addition to Pacino, Hunters stars Logan Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker and Lena Olin.
Hunters will be released in 2020 on Amazon Prime Video.
