From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Before I’m a Celebrity 2015 started, Karl Pilkington was heavily rumoured to be heading to the jungle.

With Spencer Matthews having left the show, attention has turned back to the An Idiot Abroad star and the possibility of him replacing the Made in Chelsea man.

Pilkington, however, has seemingly already turned down the opportunity to appear on the show.

Speaking to Digital Spy, he hinted he’s been asked, saying: "It's like asking someone if they've ever had a call about getting there PPI back. I think everyone has been asked by now haven't they?

“Maybe it would have been flattering to be asked on the first series of something, but now it's been running for so long they've used up all the good stuff. It’s the same problem with the Queen handing out OBEs, she'll be giving them to the cast of Made in Chelsea soon.”

The 43-year-old has previously ruled out ever appearing on the show, yet remained one of the bookies' favourites.

Spencer Matthews recently confirmed he was leaving the show because he was taking steroids.
