From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segment — a commonplace viral hit-maker from The Late Late Show — has become a go-to launch platform for new albums.

Having released his self-titled album last week, Harry Styles will appear on Corden’s show, the host announcing the news last night (15 May).

"And, ladies and gentlemen, here's something to tell you, which I hope will make you happy," Corden said.

"This Thursday, I've arranged for Mr Harry Styles, he's gonna help me get to work, on Thursday, in a brand new Carpool Karaoke. You don't want to miss it.”

The singer — who may avoid One Direction songs — appeared on Corden’s show, singing his latest single ‘Sign of the Times’.

Meanwhile, Styles recently spoke about the ongoing General Election, saying 'I’ll probably vote for whoever is against Brexit’.

In a separate interview, the ex-boy band member spoke about whether the recent album references ex-partner Taylor Swift. Read our review here.
