Emma Watson sent Harry Potter fans’ excitement into overdrive after sending a video message of luck to her former co-star who was a finalist in US series Dancing with the Stars.

Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter franchise, made it through to the final of the competition with her professional partner, Keo Motsepe.

I'm so proud of you," Watson said, adding: “We love you. We are rooting for you. Kill it tonight, girl." Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton quipped: “Despite all of our differences at Hogwarts, I want to wish you all the very best tonight!”

Other co-stars to wish the Irish star luck included Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), Katie Leung (Cho Chang) and George Weasley actor James Phelps.

JK Rowling also sent the Lovegood star her well wishes, saying: “Best of luck, Evanna. Hope you win.”

Lynch, 27, finished in third place, losing out to US radio personality Bobby Bones in the final which aired in the US on Monday night (19 November). Her fellow finalists included model Alexis Ren and actor Milo Manheim.

Lovegood first appeared in 2007 film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
