From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Fans of The Handmaid’s Tale can rejoice: the dystopian series will be back on TV screens very soon.
Season four of the show will begin airing on 28 April on Hulu in the US.
Elisabeth Moss will reprise her role as June Osborne/Offred, one of many women serving as Handmaids in Gilead – a totalitarian state having replaced what we know as the United States.
The series is based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, published in 1985.

What can I expect?
If you’ve watched season three, you might recall it ended with (spoiler alert) June successfully helping a group of children escape Gilead, by putting them on a plane to Canada.
The season ended with June getting wounded during the operation, and being taken away by a group of fellow Handmaids.
Hulu have released a synopsis teasing the fourth season, and it sounds like June will reprise her struggle against the powers that be in Gilead.
“In the upcoming fourth season of The Handmaid's Tale, June (Elisabeth Moss) strikes back against Gilead as a fierce rebel leader, but the risks she takes bring unexpected and dangerous new challenges,” the synopsis reads. “Her quest for justice and revenge threatens to consume her and destroy her most cherished relationships.”
