From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The actor, who plays Jay Dipersia in the drama, performed his “It’s time to punch a few Nazis” soliloquy in the fifth episode of season three, when his and Cush Jumbo’s characters are caught up in a mass brawl with an alt-right group.
“When it aired… the backlash that I was getting on Twitter… I heard so many different ways to be called the ‘n-word’ – it was crazy,” revealed Nyambi at the Television Critics Association press tour.
“But that’s what it is to be an artist, I guess, the kind of artist I want to be. Somebody who isn’t afraid to question the status quo and play in that arena. It was an interesting time, but one that I am really, really proud of.”
The Good Fight season four will see Michael J Fox reprise his The Good Wife role of attorney Louis Canning in the spin-off.
Hugh Dancy is also joining the cast as a lawyer and Zach Grenier has been added to the show as a regular.
