Gogglebox fans were left in hysterics after Jenny Newby “joined” AC-12 in a hilarious Line of Duty photo.

In recent weeks, Jenny has been praised for her detective skills while watching series six of Jed Mercurio’s BBC drama.

During each episode, as shown on Gogglebox, Jenny writes down key phrases and character names in a special notebook so that she’ll be able to pick up on future twists and turns.

Her efforts have seen her become the source of a photoshopped image showing her sitting alongside DI Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure). In the photo, she can be seen perusing her notepad.

Jenny and her Gogglebox partner Lee Riley shared the image on their official Twitter page, writing: “Mother of God, is Jenny the new Hasting at AC12.”

The caption added: “Any excuse to sit next to Steve Arnott.”

Actor Gregory Piper, who plays PC Ryan Pilkington in Line of Dutywas recently left overjoyed after his character’s name made it into Jenny’s detective notepad.

“Watching @C4Gogglebox and ‘Pilkington’ making it into Jenny’s notebook has made my day,” he wrote.

Piper found himself at the centre of the show’s latest cliffhanger, which left many worried for Kate.

Since the episode was broadcast on Sunday (18 April), many fans have highlighted a clue that seems to spoil the outcome of the ending.
