From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The stars of ER are set to reunite for a special Earth Day episode of Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley’s live-streamed series Stars in the House.
George Clooney, Noah Wyle, Anthony Edwards, Julianna Margulies, and Gloria Reuben are among the cast members of the beloved NBC medical drama who will get together for the benefit on 22 April.
The virtual reunion will raise funds for the Waterkeeper Alliance, an organisation aimed at protecting clean water globally.
Reuben, who played Jeanie Boulet in the medical drama, set up the event. It will also feature Laura Innes, Alex Kingston, Goran Visnjic, Paul McCrane, Ming-Na Wen, Laura Cerón, Yvette Freeman, and Conni Marie Brazelton.
ER ran for 15 seasons from 1994 to 2009, winning 23 Emmy awards along the way. It follows the inner life of the emergency room of fictional County General Hospital in Chicago, and various critical issues faced by the physicians and staff.
Stars in the House, which Rudetsky and Wesley created during the pandemic to raise money for the Actors Fund, has previously featured the casts of The West Wing, Grey’s Anatomy, Little House on the Prairie and Melrose Place, to name a few.
The ER reunion episode will stream exclusively on People’s social platforms Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, as well as on PeopleTV’s Facebook and Twitter, and on the Stars in the House YouTube channel and starsinthehouse.com. Viewers will be able to ask questions live, and donate to Waterkeeper Alliance.
