From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Sophie Turner is looking forward to one thing about Games of Thrones the most: dying.
The actor admitted to The Wall Street Journal that she's hoping for a grisly end to her character, though Sansa Stark remains a perennial fan favourite. "I don’t want to survive and I want Little Finger to end up on the throne" Turner confessed. "If you’re on Game of Thrones and you don’t have a cool death scene, then what’s the point?"
Turner's comments do seem to indicate that Sansa will survive season 6; which is probably not much of a surprise to fans, especially considering how much her character has both grown and has the potential to grow further in the future.
"This season is about her taking charge and being a leader, rather than just a pawn in someone else's game," she revealed of Sansa's journey. "So this is a big season for her; she's really going to thrive this season."
Turner also elaborated a little on the mood of the upcoming episodes; "The past five seasons have been everyone spreading out and going their separate ways and it’s very sparse. Season 6 feels like everything is coming together and storylines intertwining and people are forming alliances with other characters and everyone is coming towards the same goal."
Would that goal be, perchance, teaming together to bring back the departed spirit of Jon Snow? We'll have to wait and see, when Game of Thrones returns 24 April.
